Have a Fiat Type 185, aka the Marea.
They were sold in Europe until 2002 and until the late 2000s in South America, but I haven’t seen one in years.

More manufacturers need to copy Fiat’s habit of putting the head unit at the top. So much easier to use.

The Marea Weekend Turbo was quite a liked car in 2000’s Brazil.

Nowadays they’d put a sat nav display there though.

Yes, they kept selling them there for quite some time.

True. The very simple/ very cheap cars I buy are so simple I never really thought about the need for infotainment screens and such.

They did, there was even a facelifted version that only the Italian embassy bought.

The lady that owns the small lunch restaurant has one and it is in a sorry state, but still chugging.
Italian cars get a lot of flack for being unreliable, but for some miracle here in Bulgaria you will see much more old Italians than almost any other brand. Some of them in absolute disrepair, but still going. Also they are just rather inexpensive to maintain even with a lot of the faults. My mother’s 2001 Punto is now for over 10 years with us and it is going strong with minimum hassle.
